Correcting the GPS drift with a marked obstacle

GPS drift is defined as the deviations of the GPS signal. GPS drift results from the use of correction sources with low precision. GPS drift can be recognised when the positions of the field boundaries or the worked area on the AmaTron 4 no longer correspond to the actual positions.

The positions of field boundaries or the worked area on the AmaTron 4 can be checked and corrected with a marked obstacle. To do so, a visible point on the field is required that serves as a real reference point, e.g. the entrance to the field or a tree. This point can be driven to at any time to compare the actual vehicle position with the position of the marked obstacle on the AmaTron 4. In doing so, it is important to always drive to the reference point in the same way and from the same direction. If the positions do not match, the GPS drift can be corrected with the corresponding obstacle symbol.
