Starting spot spraying

With spot spraying, spray liquid can be applied punctually. To do this, GPS coordinates are saved on a spot spraying map beforehand. The GPS coordinates produce point-shaped areas on which the spray liquid is applied.

REQUIREMENTS

Requirements on the AmaTron 4:

  • Licences are available for GPS switch pro and GPS maps&doc

  • ISOBUS is configured, Configuring ISOBUS

  • GPS signal with an RTK correction signal is available. The utilised RTK correction signal corresponds to the RTK correction signal that was used to create the spot spraying map.

  • The implement geometry data is correctly entered, Configuring ISOBUS implements

  • When the tractor GPS signal is used, enter the tractor geometry data correctly, Changing the tractor geometry data

  • GPS drift was corrected, GPS drift correction

Requirements for the field sprayer:

  • The implement is configured in the ISOBUS software for automatic part-width section control

  • The spray liquid tank is filled with the maximum permissible quantity

  • AmaSelect single nozzle control is available

  • The software for the field sprayer is up-to-date

  • For optimal results, the spot spraying nozzles are installed

  • Automatic boom lowering is deactivated

  1. Set the switching times and geometry for the utilised machine equipment precisely in the ISOBUS software.
  2. Set a constant spray pressure according to the specifications for the utilised nozzles in the ISOBUS software.
  3. Set the setpoint for the application rate in the ISOBUS software.

To achieve the greatest possible coverage of the spot, additional areas around the spots are treated in the direction of travel and to the sides. The size of the additional areas is indicated with percent values.

AMAZONE recommends the following settings:

  • Additional area to the side: 10 %

  • Additional area in the direction of travel: 100 %

To reduce the required quantity of spray liquid, the additional areas can be reduced.

If the additional area in the direction of travel is reduced, the working speed must be reduced. If the additional area in the direction of travel is too strongly reduced, smaller spots will not be treated.

If the sprayer boom moves laterally, the additional areas to the sides must be increased.

The optimum adjustment can only be determined during field operation.

  1. To adjust the additional areas:

    Enter the desired value under Additional area to the side or Additional area in the direction of travel.

Required settings for the overlap:

  • Overlap in the direction of travel when switching on: 0cm

  • Overlap in the direction of travel when switching off: 0cm

  • Degree of overlap: 100 %

  • Overlap tolerance: maximum

  • Overlap tolerance at field boundary: maximum

  1. Switch on the part-width sections in the ISOBUS software.
  2. In the Work menu, select .

For the working speed and the direction of travel, the following applies:

  • For spots that are 40cm in size, a working speed of up to 12km/h is possible, for smaller spots, the working speed must be reduced.

  • To prevent the sprayer boom from moving faster or slower than at working speed, driving in curves must be avoided.

  1. Drive onto the field.
  2. Adjust the working speed to the desired application rate and the size of the spots.

The part-width sections are switched according to the spot spraying map. Outside of the spots, the part-width sections remain switched off regardless of application maps or boundaries. The total area driven over with the part-width sections is marked as the worked area.

To switch the part-width section control according to application maps or boundaries again, spot spraying can be paused. The total area driven over with the part-width sections remains marked as the worked area.
