Adjusting the throughput of disk gangs
Disk gangs can be set to high throughput A or low throughput B:
If the disk gangs are set to high throughput, the tines can work at a depth of 5,71 in (14,5cm) with the disk gangs fully lifted, without the disks penetrating the soil. If the tines work at a depth of 11,81 in (30cm), the disks penetrate the soil at a depth of 5,91 in (15cm).
If the disk gangs are set to low throughput, the tines can work at a depth of 8,86 in (22,5cm) with the disk gangs fully lifted, without the disks penetrating the soil. If the tines work at a depth of 11,81 in (30cm), the disks penetrate the soil at a depth of 7,5 in (7,5 cm).
High throughput is pre-set at the factory, and must be selected under the following conditions:
High quantity of organic matter
High quantities of crop residues
If the disks are used at maximum working depth
Low throughput must be selected under the following conditions:
If the pulling force requirement should be reduced at maximum working depth
Under wet conditions and high working depth of the tine array
If the tines should work deep, but not with the disks
To change the disk gangs from high throughput to low throughput:
Lower the running gear into transport position.- Set the working depth of the disk gangs to the lowest value with tractor control unit green 3.
- Prevent each disk gang from lowering with suitable lifting gear and slings.
- Unscrew the nuts 1 on all bearing plates 3 of the disk gangs and take them off together with the wedge lock washers 2.
- Pull out the bolts 5 together with the wedge lock washers from the bearing plates 1 and disk gang carriers 4.
- Take off the diagonal struts 2 together with the wheel chocks 3.
- Turn the disk gangs 5 around the longitudinal axis far enough that the formerly free holes 2 of the bearing plates 1 are aligned with the holes of the disk gang carriers 3.
- Insert the bolts 4 together with the wedge lock washers through the holes on all of the bearing plates and disk gang carriers.
- Fit on the diagonal struts together with the wheel chocks.
- Fit the nuts together with wedge lock washers on all bolts.
- Tighten all nuts.
To change the disk gangs from low throughput to high throughput:
Perform all of the work steps in the same way. However, for step 7, turn the disk gangs in the opposite direction around the longitudinal axis.
