Adjusting the switching times for Section Control

NOTE

We recommend determining the switching times with Optimize switching times, Optimizing switching times.

When the placement points are switched per Section Control, it takes a few milliseconds until the drives respond. The length of the conveyor section up to the application point also affects precise switching to the headlands. These delays can cause overlaps or unsown areas. The switching times compensate for these delays when switching on and off.

The switch on and switch off times in the table are the pre-set times for Section Control. They can be adjusted to prevent overlaps or unsown areas.

NOTE
The length of the conveyor section to the placement point and the fan speed affect precise switching on headlands. When moving onto or off of sown areas these delays can cause overlaps A or unsown areas B. With the switching times, these errors are compensated in the work pattern.

For precise switching of the metering unit on headlands, the following points are required:

  • RTK accuracy of the GPS receiver

  • Recommended update rate: 10 Hz

  • Recommended GPS baud rate: 57 600 Hz

  • Uniform speed when moving into or out of headlands

  • Maintain the direction of travel when moving into headlands or out of headlands

  • The control terminal can operate enough part-width sections

  1. In the Settings menu, select Products > Seed, Fertilizer or Micro-granules.
  2. If overlaps occur when entering a sown area:

    Increase switch-off time.

or

If unsown areas occur when entering a sown area:

Reduce switch off time.

or

If overlaps are produced when moving out of a sown area:

Reduce switch on time.

or

If unsown areas occur when exiting a sown area:

Increase switch-on time.

NOTE
Switch-on time section control and Switch-off time section control are specified for the fertilizer spreading switching times.
These times are transferred to the Task Controller.
