Setting up seed

  1. In the Settings menu, select Products > Seed.

To spread different seed, 2 different seeding disks can be installed. The seeding disks are allocated in the software under Seeding disk 1 and Seeding disk 2.

  1. Under Seeding disk 1 select the installed seeding disk

or

In the Selection menu, select ... and enter a user-defined seeding disk.

When the target spread rate is entered, the software calculates the placement spacing. When the placement spacing is entered, the software calculates the target spread rate.

  1. Enter the desired spread rate in grains per hectare under Target spread rate 1.

or

Enter the desired spacing of the grains under Placement spacing 1.

NOTE
If the selected sensitivity of the opto-sensor is selected too high, it may detect dust, sand grains or contamination as seed, for example, and this results in faulty placement.
If a singling disk for rapeseed is selected, the sensitivity of the opto-sensor will be automatically set to 100%.

The following values are recommended for the sensitivity of the opto-sensors:

  1. If the preset values do not bring about the desired work result:

    Adjust the sensitivity of the opto-sensors.
NOTE
For example, when the signal amplification is selected too high, it can detect dust, sand grains or contamination as seed, and thus cause faulty placement.

With increasing contamination, the amplification can be gradually increased:

  • Off

  • Low

  • Medium

  • High

  • Maximum

The following values are recommended for signal amplification of the opto-sensors:

  1. Scroll through the menu pages with .
  1. Set the signal amplification for the opto-sensors.
  2. To adjust the switch-on and switch-off time:

  1. Scroll through the menu pages with .
  1. Under Seeding disk 2 select the installed seeding disk

or

In the Selection menu, select ... and enter a user-defined seeding disk.

  1. Enter the desired spread rate in grains per hectare under Target spread rate 2.

or

Enter the desired spacing of the grains under Placement spacing 2.

NOTE
If 2 target spread rates are spread, the number 2 is shown in the Work menu. The displayed target spread rate is the average value of the two target spread rates.
  1. If different target spread rates should be assigned to the rows:

    Under Row assignments of the target rates select .
  2. Enter the desired target spread rate for each row.
  3. Scroll through the menu pages with .

Sensors monitor whether seed is still in the seed hoppers. If only the seed hoppers on the coulters are used, the indication at empty seed hopper can be deactivated for the central seed hopper.

An empty seed hopper will still be displayed in the Work menu, even if the indications have been deactivated.

  1. If the sensors should monitor whether seed is still present in the central seed hopper:

    Activate Notification at empty hopper.
  2. If you are monitoring for whether there is still seed in the hoppers on the coulters:

    Activate Alert at empty hopper on the rows .

When a tramline is being created, the target spread rate can be increased in the adjacent rows.

  1. Enter the percent rate increase under Seed rate increase in the adjacent rows.
  2. To adjust the Central Seed Supply system:

    Adjusting the Central Seed Supply System.
  3. Scroll through the menu pages with .

Grain monitoring is shown in the Work menu with bar graphs. The bar graphs show the deviation from the target spread rate. The display range of the bar graphs corresponds to a defined percentage value of the target spread rate.

If a singling disk for rapeseed is selected, the Display range bar graphs and the Actual spread rate alarm limit will automatically be set to 20%.

If a singling disk for sowing pumpkin is selected, the Display range bar graphs and the Actual spread rate alarm limit, must be manually set to 30%.

  1. Enter the percentage value under Display range for bar graphs.
  2. To specify the deviation from the target spread rate that should trigger an alarm:

    Under Actual spread rate alarm limit, enter the deviation from the target spread rate in percent.
