Glossary
Application map
Application maps contain data that can be used to control an element of an implement. This data includes spread rates or working depths.
AUX
AUX stands for Auxiliary and refers to an additional input device, e.g. a multi-function stick.
Baud rate
Data transmission rate, measured in bits per second.
Correction source
Correction sources are the various systems used to improve and correct the GPS signal.
ECU
ECU refers to the implement control system that is installed in the implement. Control terminals access the implement control system and are used to operate the implement.
EGNOS
European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service. European system for satellite navigation correction.
Farm Management Information System
A Farm Management Information System (FMIS) is a program for managing agricultural holdings. Such programs can be used to manage jobs and master data.
Firmware
A computer program that is permanently embedded in a device.
GLONASS
Russian global navigation satellite system
GPS drift
GPS drift refers to the deviations of the GPS signal that result from use of correction sources with limited accuracy. GPS drift is present when the vehicle symbol on the control terminal no longer matches the actual position of the vehicle.
HDOP
(Horizontal Dilution of Precision) measurement for the precision of the horizontal position data (longitude and latitude) that is sent by the satellites.
MSAS
Multifunctional Satellite Augmentation. Japanese system for satellite navigation correction.
RTK
System for correction of satellite data (a paid service).
Setpoint receiver
The setpoint receiver refers to the controllable element of the implement. For a field sprayer, the spray pressure controller can be defined as a controllable element, with which the spread rate can be regulated.
shape file
The shape file saves geometry information and attribute information in a data set. The geometry information generates shapes that can be used as boundary lines. The attribute information is required for the applications, e.g. to control the spread rate. The shape file is in ".shp" format.
TASK.XML
The TASK.XML is a file that contains data concerning the jobs.
Universal Terminal
The Universal Terminal can be used to display the user interface of the ECU on the control terminal.
