Filling the fertilizer hopper with the filling auger

NOTE
The guard screen and function screen in the fertilizer hopper are closed. Only a closed guard and function screen can prevent clumps of fertilizer and/or foreign objects from entering the fertilizer hopper and clogging the metering unit.

PREREQUISITES

  • Implement coupled on the tractor

  • Tractor and implement are secured

  • The transport vehicle carrying the fertilizer is on a level surface

  1. Switch on the interior lighting of the hopper when working at night.
  2. Open the cover tarpaulin 1 of the filling funnel.
  3. Swing out the filling chute 2.
  4. Remove residues or foreign objects from the filling funnel.

  5. To activate the oil supply of the feed auger:

    Switch on tractor control unit beige with 8,45 gpm (32l/min).
  1. Slowly switch on the filling auger drive on the stop tap 1.
  2. Fill the filling funnel of the filling auger with the spreading material.

The fill level in the fertilizer hopper increases.

NOTE

The maximum filling capacity is reached when a material cone forms above the feed auger. If possible, let the fertilizer run directly into the filling funnel.

  1. Monitor the fill level through the inspection window.

  2. When the fill level rises beyond the edge of the inspection window:

    Reduce the filling of the filling hopper and the auger speed with the ball valve 2.

  3. When the fertilizer hopper is filled:

    Stop filling the filling funnel.
  4. Allow the feed auger to keep running until it is emptied.
  5. Via the stop tap, slowly switch off the drive of the filling auger.
  6. Switch off the tractor control unit.
  7. Swing in in the filling chute.
  8. Close the cover tarp of the filling funnel.
