Adjusting the V-press rollers

The V-press rollers close the seed furrow. The press roller pressure, the pitch, and the distance between the press rollers can be adjusted.

Press rollers

1

350x50 serrated for heavy soils

2

350x50 profiled for light to medium soils. Suitable for reducing the risk of erosion

3

350x50 smooth for light to medium soils

4

350x33 smooth for medium to heavy soils

NOTE
To ensure that the seed is not worked out of the soil 1, the serrated press rollers must not work any shallower than the set seed placement depth.
  1. Lift out the machine.
  2. Secure tractor and machine.
  3. Unlock the adjustment lever 1.
  4. To increase the roller pressure:

Move the adjustment lever towards E

or

To reduce the roller pressure:

Move the adjustment lever towards A.
  1. Lock the adjustment lever in the grid.
  2. To check the adjustment:

Drive 98,43 ft (30m) at working speed. Check the work pattern.
  3. If the seed furrow is not closed at the set roller pressure:

    Adjust the pitch.
  1. For light soils:

Move the adjustment lever towards A

or

For heavy soils:

Move the adjustment lever towards E.

  1. To check the adjustment:

Drive 98,43 ft (30m) at working speed. Check the work pattern.
  2. If the seed furrow is not closed at the set pitch,

    Adjust the press roller distance.
  1. Unscrew the inner lock nut and remove it.
  2. Remove the bolt 1 with the press roller.

Bring the press roller 3 with the adjustment bushings 2 into the desired position.

NOTE
To adjust the pressure point of the press rollers centered to the furrow, adjustment bushes are present in different distances.
  1. For light soils:

Increase the press roller distance: +

or

For heavy soils:

Reduce the press roller distance -.

  1. Mount the press roller with bolts.
  2. Bring the opposite press roller 4 into the desired position.
  3. To check the adjustment:

Drive 98,43 ft (30m) at working speed. Check the work pattern.
  4. If the seed furrow is not closed at the set press roller distance,

    Adjust the press roller offset.
  1. Unscrew the inner lock nut and remove it.
  2. Remove the bolt 1 with the press roller.
NOTE
For machines with disk closers, mount the press rollers in the rear position.
  1. For greater passage:

Increase the distance of the press rollers 2 in the direction of travel.
  2. Mount the pressure roller.
  3. Bring the opposite press roller 3 into the desired position.
  4. To check the adjustment:

Drive 98,43 ft (30m) at working speed. Check the work pattern.
