Checking the grain spacing

The application rate determines the required grain spacing. The selection of the singling disks and of the singling disk speed, adjust the grain spacing.

  1. Sow 98,43 ft (30m) at working speed.
  2. Use the read-off edge of the multi-placement tester to remove the soil in layers.
  3. Expose 11 grains in one row.
  4. Place the multi-placement tester horizontally on the ground.
  5. Measure the spacing of 10 grains with the ruler 1.
  1. Calculate the average grain spacing.
  2. Cover the seed with fine soil again.
