Cleaning the metering unit

Interval

  • Daily

IMPORTANT
Risk of damage to the metering drive due to swelling fertilizer or germinating seed.
Empty the metering unit after operation.
Clean the metering unit after operation.
  1. Switch off the fan.
  2. When the hopper is full:

  3. If the implement is equipped with a double conveyor section:

    See Preparing the implement for operation > Using the calibration conveyor section.
  4. To bring the calibration container in position:

    See Preparing the implement for operation > Using the calibration container.
  5. To open the calibration flap:

    See Preparing the implement for operation > Operating the calibration flap.
  6. To empty the metering unit and the metering roller:

    see Emptying in the ISOBUS software operating manual.
  7. Unscrew the bolts with the wrench 1.
  8. Park the wrench in the holder 3.
  9. Turn the bearing cover 2.
  1. Unscrew the bolts with the wrench 1.
  2. Park the wrench in the holder 3.
  3. Turn the bearing cover 2.
  1. Pull off the bearing cover 1.
  2. Pull the metering roller 2 out of the metering unit.
  3. Clean the metering unit housing and metering roller.
  4. Mount the metering unit.
  1. Align the catch 3 on the bearing cover to the drive shaft 2.
  2. Mount the bearing cover.
  3. Tighten bolts with the wrench 1.
  4. Park the wrench in the holder 4.
  5. To open the sliding shutter:

  6. If the implement is equipped with a double conveyor section, activate the desired conveyor sections:

    See Preparing the implement for operation > Using the calibration conveyor section.
  7. Discharge the calibration container.
  8. Place the calibration container in the stowage compartment.
  9. Close the calibration flap

To prevent moisture accumulations during a longer period out of operation:

Open the calibration flap.
  1. If the implement is equipped with additional hoppers:

    Use the same procedure to clean the metering units.
