Applying the spray liquid

IMPORTANT
Boom damage due to overload
The boom can be damaged if the permitted boom load is exceeded.
Reduce the forward speed significantly before the headlands.
Drive in curves at a constant speed.
Drive tight curve radii slowly, at less than 6km/h.
Avoid jerky steering or rapid and abrupt changes in direction.
NOTE
The number of times the permissible boom load is exceeded will be documented.
Please note that if there are any claims for goodwill, depending on the damage pattern, the counter values can be consulted.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Field mode is activated.

  1. Adjust the agitator capacity on the ISOBUS control terminal. When using HighFlow+, select the highest agitator capacity.
  2. Run the spray liquid pump on the ISOBUS control terminal.
  3. Switch on Section Control.
  4. Start the spraying procedure and simultaneously drive off.
NOTE
When working with Section Control on the headlands, unworked wedges can occur on the field if the machine is driving in a curve when driving into or out of the headland.
When Section Control is switched on, drive straight into the field and drive straight out of the field to avoid unworked wedges.

When using Section Control, automatic headland control can be activated. In this case, the vehicle automatically switches to all-wheel drive on the headlands, and to front-wheel steering on the tramlines. The spraying procedure is automatically paused on the headlands. The boom is automatically lifted.

  1. To activate automatic headland control:

Select on the AmaDrive vehicle terminal.

When Section Control is not used, the settings for the headlands must be entered manually:

  1. Select all-wheel steering when driving onto the headlands.
  2. Stop spraying operation when driving onto the headlands.
  3. Switch off the automatic boom guidance when driving onto the headlands.
  4. Switch the automatic boom guidance back on when driving out of the headlands.
  5. Start the spraying procedure again when driving out of the headlands.
  6. Select front-wheel steering when driving out of the headlands.

If the machine is equipped with ContourControl, the total load on the boom is shown on the ISOBUS control terminal. The display shows the current 2 total load as well as the maximum permissible 1 total load for the boom.

  1. Observe the display. Adapt the driving style if necessary.

If the machine is equipped with HighFlow+, additional information on the use of HighFlow+ can be shown on the ISOBUS control terminal:

  • This display 1 provides information as to whether the forward speed and therefore the application rate can be increased or whether the agitator capacity must be reduced. The more bars that are marked, the more liquid fertiliser is delivered to the boom.

  • With a value from 1 to 6, the display 2 shows the portion of pump capacity that the agitator pump uses for spraying.

  1. Observe the display. Adapt the driving style if necessary.
