Filling the Central Seed Supply hopper

PREREQUISITES

  • Implement is coupled on the tractor.

  • When working in the dark, the hopper interior lighting is switched on.

  • All fans are switched off.

  1. Secure tractor and implement.
  2. Swing down the ladder.
  3. Swing up the loading board.
IMPORTANT
Hopper cover damage caused by personnel walking on it
If the hopper cover is damaged, the hopper will leak. Metering will be faulty.
Do not step on the hopper cover.
  1. Unlock the lock lever 1.
  2. Open the hopper cover 2.

The grain shape or the dressing can cause the seed to be poorly conveyed.

  1. If seed remains on the sieves 1 during the filling procedure:

    Mix 17,64 oz (500g) of talcum at 40 units per 50,000 grains to improve the sliding capacity of the seed.
WARNING
Risk of chemical burns due to dressing dust
Before working with hazardous materials, put on the protective clothing recommended by the manufacturer.
  1. Fill the central seed hopper.

  2. Clean the cover seal and the sealing surface.
  3. Close the hopper cover 2.
  4. Swing up the ladder.
  5. Fold the loading board.
