Checking and adjusting the metering lips

  • At the start of the season

PREREQUISITES

  • Metering unit is cleaned

  1. Unscrew the nuts of the eye bolts 3 using the wrench 1.
  2. Swivel the eyebolts to the side.
  3. Take the sliding shutter 2 out of the holder. Slide the sliding shutter into the metering unit housing 4 to the stop.
  1. Use the wrench 1 to unscrew the bolts 2.
  2. Dismount the metering lip holder 3.
  1. Check the metering lip 5.
  2. If the chamfer 1 is wider than 0,08 in (2mm):

    Turn the metering lip

or

If the metering lip is worn on both sides:

Replace the metering lip.

  1. Adjust the A of the metering lip parallel to the metering lip holder 4 to 0,94 in (24mm).
  2. Tighten bolts 2.
  3. Check the seal 3.
  4. If the seal is damaged:

    Replace the seal.
  1. Mount the metering lip holder 3.
  2. Use the wrench 1 to tighten the bolts 2.
  1. Park the sliding shutter 1 in the metering unit housing.
  2. Swivel the eyebolts in front of the sliding shutter.
  3. Tighten the nuts of the eye bolts 2 with the wrench 3.
  4. Park the wrench in the holder.
