Adjusting the coulter pressure hydraulically

The coulter pressure is applied with a hydraulic cylinder 1.

Depending on the machine equipment, the hydraulic coulter pressure system is equipped with contact force regulation. The force sensors 1 determine the contact force of the coulters. The signal processing 2 calculates an average value for all coulters and regulates the pressure in the hydraulic coulter pressure system.

REQUIREMENTS

  • The fan is switched on

  • The machine has picked up forward speed

NOTE
The working range is between 5 and 130.
NOTE
If the hydraulic coulter pressure is set too high, the machine will be lifted by the PreTeC coulters.
Only use the contact force regulation up to seed placement depth position F-F.

To prevent the PreTeC coulters from sinking into very light soils, the PreTeC coulters are hydraulically relieved. To do so, the set coulter pressure is reduced by a permanently set counter-pressure.

  1. To increase the coulter pressure on heavy soils:

In the Work menu, select .
  2. To reduce the coulter pressure on light soils:

In the Work menu, select .
  3. To check the setting:

Drive for 30m at working speed. Check the placement depth.
  4. If the placement depth is not reached in the tracks, increase the coulter pressure specifically in the tracks:

Adjust the coulter pressure in the track.
