Selecting spraying nozzles for crop protection products

NOTE
To use AmaXact nozzle bodies with pulse width frequency modulation, the spray nozzles must be compatible with PWFM. Please refer to the manufacturer’s specifications.

To select the required spraying nozzle, the following information must be known:

  • Application rate in l/ha

  • Working speed in km/h

  • Desired atomisation characteristic: fine droplets 5, medium droplets 6 or coarse droplets 7

  1. Determine the operating point 1 for the desired application rate and the working speed.
  2. Draw a vertical line downward from the operating point, until the line intersects the characteristic curve for the nozzle cross-section 3 in the area of the desired atomisation characteristic.
  3. The nozzle type 4, the nozzle cross-section 8 and the possible spray pressure range 2 are specified in the diagram.
