Adjusting the switching times for Section Control

It is recommended to determine the switching time with Optimise switching times, Optimising the switching times.

When the placement points are switched per Section Control, it takes a few milliseconds until the drives respond. The length of the conveyor section up to the application point also affects precise switching at the headlands. These delays can cause overlaps or unworked areas. The switching times compensate for these delays when switching on and off.

The switch-on and -off times in the table are the pre-set times for Section Control. They can be adjusted to prevent overlaps or unworked areas.

NOTE
The length of the conveyor section up to the placement point and the fan speed affect precise switching on the headlands. These delays when driving into or out of seeded areas can cause overlaps A or unworked areas B. These errors in the work pattern are compensated with the switching times.

To switch the metering units precisely on the headlands, the following points are necessary:

  • RTK accuracy of the GPS receiver

  • Recommended update rate: 10 Hz

  • Recommended GPS baud rate: 57600 Hz

  • Constant speed when driving into or out of the headlands

  • Maintain the direction of travel when driving into or out of the headlands

  • The control terminal can operate enough part-width sections

  1. In the Settings > Products menu, select Seed, Fertiliser or Micro-granules.
  2. If overlaps are produced when entering a seeded area:

    increase the switch-off time

or

If unworked areas are produced when entering a seeded area:

reduce the switch-off time

or

If overlaps are produced when moving off a seeded area:

reduce the switch-on time

or

If unworked areas are produced when moving off a seeded area:

increase the switch-on time.

NOTE
For the switching times for fertiliser spreading, the Switch-on time Section Control and the Switch-off time Section Control are indicated.
These times are transmitted to the Task Controller.
