Configuring seeds

  1. In the Settings menu, select Products > Seed.

To spread different seed types, 2 different seeding discs can be installed on the machine. In the software, the seeding discs are assigned under Seeding disc 1 and Seeding disc 2.

  1. Under Seeding disc 1, select the installed seeding disc

or

Select ... in the Selection menu and enter a user-defined seeding disc.

When the target application rate is entered, the software calculates the placement spacing. When the placement spacing is entered, the software calculates the target application rate.

  1. Enter the desired application rate in grains per hectare under Target application rate 1

or

Enter the desired spacing of the grains under Placement spacing 1.

NOTE
When the selected sensitivity of the opto-sensor is too high, it can detect dust, sand grains or contamination as seed and cause faulty placement.
If a singling disc for rapeseed is selected, the sensitivity of the opto-sensor is automatically set to 100 %.

The following values are recommended for the sensitivity of the opto-sensors:

  1. If the pre-set values do not deliver the desired work results:

    Set the sensitivity of the opto-sensors.
NOTE
When the signal amplification selected for the opto-sensor is too high, it can detect dust, sand grains or contamination as seed and cause faulty placement.

With increasing soiling, the amplification can be gradually increased:

  • Off

  • Low

  • Medium

  • High

  • Maximum

The following values are recommended for the signal amplification of the opto-sensors:

  1. Scroll through the menu pages with .

  2. To adjust the switch-on and switch-off time:

  1. Under Seeding disc 2, select the installed seeding disc

or

Select ... in the Selection menu and enter a user-defined seeding disc.

  1. Enter the desired application rate in grains per hectare under Target application rate 2

or

Enter the desired spacing of the grains under Placement spacing 2.

NOTE
If 2 target rates are being spread, a 2 is shown in the Work menu. The displayed target rate is the average value of both target spread rates.
  1. If different target rates should be assigned to the rows:

    Under Row assignments of the target rates, select .
  2. Enter the desired target rate for each row.
  3. Scroll through the menu pages with .

Sensors monitor whether there is still seed in the seed hoppers. If only the seed hoppers on the coulters are being used, the empty seed hopper notification for the central seed hopper can be deactivated.

An empty seed hopper will still be shown in the Work menu, even if the notifications are deactivated.

  1. If you want to monitor whether seed is still left in the central seed hopper:

    Activate Notification when hopper empty.
  2. If you want to monitor whether seed is still left in the seed hoppers on the coulters:

    Activate Notification when hopper empty on the rows.

When a tramline is being created, the target application rate can be increased in the adjacent rows.

  1. Enter the percent rate increase under Seed rate increase in the adjacent rows.
  2. To set the Central Seed Supply system:

    Adjusting the Central Seed Supply automatic system.
  3. Scroll through the menu pages with .

The grain monitoring is shown in the Work menu with bar graphs. The bar graphs show the deviation from the target application rate. The display range of the bar graphs corresponds to a defined percent value of the target application rate.

If a singling disc for rapeseed is selected, the Display range for bar graphs and the Actual application rate alarm limit are automatically set to 20 %.

If a singling disc for squash is selected, the Display range for bar graphs and the Actual application rate alarm limit must be manually set to 30 %.

  1. Enter the percent value under Display range for bar graphs.
  2. To define the deviation from the target application rate at which an alarm should be issued:

    Under Actual application rate alarm limit, enter the deviation from the target applicationUnder Actual application rate alarm limit, enter the deviation from the target application rate in percent.applicationUnder Actual application rate alarm limit, enter the deviation from the target application rate in percent.
