Adjusting the clearing chisel

The clearing chisel moves plant residues to the side and slightly penetrates the soil surface. This makes it easier for the coulter to penetrate heavy soil.

Depending on cultivation conditions, it may be possible to spread seed without soil tillage. This requires cleared, short-cut, crop stubble on dry soils that are not too heavy or clayey.

  1. Unscrew nuts 3.
  2. Dismount nuts and washers.
  3. Dismount bolts 1.
  4. Bring the clearing chisel 2 into the desired position.
  5. Mount the bolts.
  6. Mount and tighten nuts and washers.

  7. To check the adjustment:

    Drive 98,43 ft (30m) at working speed. Check the work pattern.

If clearing chisels are not needed, then for placement depths greater than 3,15 in (8cm) the clearing chisels must be dismounted. If the placement depth is less than 3,15 in (8cm), it suffices to mount the holder 1 together with the clearing chisel in the top position.

  1. Unscrew nuts 4.
  2. Dismount nuts and washers.
  3. Dismount bolts 2.
  4. Bringing the clearing chisel 3 into the top position

  1. Mount the bolts.
  2. Mount and tighten nuts and washers.
