Checking and replacing furrow formers or furrow clearers on the PreTeC mulch seeding coulter

Interval

  • Drain 250 operating hours

    or

    At end of season

  1. To arrest the carrier rollers 1 in the upper position:

    Swing carrier rollers on both sides upward. Peg in the hole 2.
NOTE
The cutting disk need not be dismounted to change the furrow formers or furrow clearers.

  1. If the indicator 1 is no longer visible:

    Replace the furrow former

or

If the furrow clearer 2 is worn down to the shot channel:

Replace the furrow clearer.

  1. Lift out the implement.
  2. Secure tractor and implement.
  3. Dismount bolt 3 and bolt lock 4.
  4. Replace furrow former or furrow clearer.

  5. If the toothing of the bolt lock is worn:

    Replace the bolt lock.
  6. Mount the bolt and bolt lock and tighten.

  7. Use a rubber mallet to properly seat the furrow former.

  8. To ensure that the bolt is firmly seated:

    Retighten the bolt with the torque wrench.
