Checking the application rate
Interval
or
Every 12 months
The actual application rate is checked at standstill via the individual nozzle output.
To do this, at least one nozzle must be used both on the left and right boom section, and also in the middle of the boom.
- Equipment for the check:
- 1
Quick-check cup
- 2
Stopwatch
- Enter the application rate in the Main menu on the ISOBUS control terminal.
- Enter the simulated speed in the Setting menu on the ISOBUS control terminal.
- Top up the spray liquid tank with 264,17 gal (1.000l) of water.
- Switch on the agitator on the TwinTerminal.
- Start the spraying procedure on the ISOBUS control terminal.
- Check all nozzles for proper flow.
To determine the individual nozzle output on multiple nozzles:
Hold the quick-check cup under each nozzle for exactly 30 seconds.- Stop the spraying procedure on the ISOBUS control terminal.
- In the Setting menu on the ISOBUS control terminal, set the simulated speed to 0 mph (0km/h).
- Convert the average individual nozzle output to one minute.
To determine the application rate in l/ha:
Use the value from the table on the quick-check cup
or
Calculate the value.
- Table on the quick-check cup
- 1
Determined application rate:31 gal/ac (290l/ha)
- 2
Determined spray pressure: 23,21 psi (1,6bar)
- Formula for calculating the application rate
- A
Application rate in l/ha
- D
Average value for nozzle output in L/min
- F
Forward speed in km/h
If the values determined for the application rate do not match the set values:
Calibrate the flow meter, see ISOBUS software operating manual, section Calibrating the flow meter.
or
Check all nozzles for wear or clogging.
