Checking the fire extinguisher

Interval

  • Every 2 years

WARNING
Risk of explosion due to damaged pressure tank
Have repair work on the fire extinguisher performed only by authorised service personnel.

Test criteria:

  • Rust

  • Visible damage

  • Date of manufacture shows the extinguisher has been in service for more than 20 years

  • If the fire extinguisher is equipped with a pressure gauge: pressure indicator in the red area

If one of these criteria is met, the fire extinguisher must be replaced.

  1. Have the fire extinguisher replaced by authorised service personnel.
  2. Have the extinguishing agent and the empty, pressureless fire extinguisher disposed of by a qualified disposal company.
